Can I ship an electronic cigarette?

ANSWER

It depends. Some electronic cigarette packages contain lithium batteries and/or a flammable liquid. The chemical used in the electronic cigarettes may be classified as a hazardous material (Flammable Liquid) and regulated for transportation. Also, the power source for electronic cigarettes is typically lithium batteries, although most frequently the batteries are the button-cell type, which can be shipped unregulated. For assistance in properly evaluating the ability to ship electronic cigarettes, the shipper should contact the UPS Hazardous Material Support Center at 1-800-554-9964.

Can I ship a suitcase or does it have to be in a box?


ANSWER

You can, but it’s not recommended. For best results, your local The UPS Store® will package your luggage in a box. You can find your nearest location at ups.com/dropoff. Deselect the other dropoff options, such as UPS Drop Boxes or UPS Customer Centers.

Can you ship individual nail polish bottles?

ANSWER

Nail polish is typically classified as a Flammable Liquid, which is a hazardous material. As such, it must be prepared according to federal Hazardous Material Regulations. It can be shipped via UPS Ground when properly classified, packaged and prepared. But it may require the shipper to sign a hazardous material contract with UPS. Can we ship ammunition?

ANSWER

Ammunition must be shipped separately from packages that contain firearms. Only ammunition suitable for .50-caliber firearms or smaller is allowed. Also, when shipping, it’s important to print “ORM-D” on the package. Ammunition can be shipped only within the 48 contiguous states. Learn more about shipping firearms, handguns and ammunition.

Can I send a gun home?


ANSWER
