Tech Tip: E-mail a customer's tracking number with shipment status from ups.com

With just a few clicks on ups.com, you can send the tracking number and current status of a shipment to your customer.

Here's the scenario: Your workday is almost over, and just as you're getting ready to turn off the lights, a customer calls to say she didn't receive an e-mail notification with tracking information.

Don’t worry. Whether the mysterious disappearance was caused by a typing error, an accidental deletion or an overactive spam filter, you can easily resend the information to your customer by tracking the shipment at ups.com.

Verify your customer's e-mail address, and then:

  1. At ups.com, select the Tracking tab.
  2. Enter the tracking number.
  3. Select Track.
  4. Select View package progress.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and enter the customer’s e-mail address.
  6. Select Send.
