Bright colors, joyous music and lots of feathers – the sights and sounds of Carnaval – are probably what most North Americans first think of regarding Brazil. But the world’s fifth-largest country is also an opportunity-in-waiting for small businesses.

With the world's 10th-largest economy, Brazil is the biggest market in Latin America. For small businesses, Brazil offers a growing consumer market: Rising income levels have created a new class of first-time consumers. The country also offers a strong manufacturing and industrial base for companies considering importing.

Even as the world struggles to overcome recession, Brazil offers promise. Data from The Economist project the nation's GDP will hold steady at about 2.7 percent in 2010 and approach 4 percent in 2011.

In our exclusive report UPS Snapshot for Small Businesses: Brazil, Dan Brutto, president of UPS International, says, "We hope you will discover important resources and information to help you spread your wings to Brazil." The report also offers etiquette dos and don'ts, as well as resources to help you determine whether Brazil is a good fit for your business.
