Q. How do I add a handling charge to UPS rates that I pass along to customers?
A.
With WorldShip 2009, you can easily add a handling charge to your rates so you will be compensated for those costs. You can also apply separate air and ground fuel surcharges, and residential and large package surcharges. In WorldShip, simply go to Tools and select Cost Center Calculator to customize your charges.

Q. Recently, an important shipment to Canada was delayed because of a problem with the address. What can be done to prevent this in the future?
A.
UPS recommends that all Ship To addresses be classified as either residential or commercial to avoid address corrections. With WorldShip 2009, in addition to addresses in the United States and Puerto Rico, you can now classify Canadian addresses, too. Here’s how:
  1. On the Tools menu, select System Preferences Editor.
  2. Select the Miscellaneous tab.
  3. Under Classify Ship To Address, select the Residential or Commercial check box.
  4. Select Apply.
  5. Select OK to close the System Preferences Editor.

Q. I’m still using an older version of WorldShip. How do I upgrade?
A.
If you are using WorldShip v. 9.0 or 10.0 and haven’t received your CD with WorldShip v. 11.0 for 2009, you can download it now. However, if you are still using WorldShip v. 8.0 or older, you’ll need to contact your UPS representative for assistance.
